چکیده

It is often assumed in system analyses that a partial-band noise jammer against a frequency-hopped M-ary frequency shift keying (FHMFSK) communication system has a rectangular spectrum. The rectangular spectrum is, of course, unrealizable, and so it is of interest to consider more realistic spectrums, such as those where a jammer uses a bandpass filter before amplifying the jamming noise. In this paper, a Gaussian-shaped filter is used to represent a class of bandpass filters. Clearly, this is a more realistic shape than the ideal rectangular shape. In addition, it can be analyzed easily by a reasonable approximation, i.e., a Gaussian-shaped spectrum that is constant over each hopped M-ary signaling band. Numerical results indicate that such a Gaussian-shaped partial-band noise jammer has nearly the same effects as an ideal rectangular-shaped partial-band noise jammer with an equivalent bandwidth.

Performance Analyses of Fast Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum and Jamming Systems

As technology becomes increasingly able to meet the requirements, interest in faster, noncoherent, frequency hopping rates to reduce the jamming of communication has heightened. The focus of this paper is on the performance of the fast frequency hopping spread spectrum system operating in the presence of partial band noise jamming. In this paper we consider a communication system that transmits...

Low-complexity erasure insertion in frequency-hopping spread-spectrum communications subjected to fading and partial-band interference

In this paper we propose two novel low-complexity, low-delay erasure insertion schemes, namely the Output Threshold Test (OTT) and joint Maximum Output and Ratio Threshold Test (MO-RTT). The employment of the OTT and MO-RTT is beneficial in the context of the ‘Errors-And-Erasures (EAE)’ Reed-Solomon (RS) decoding in a Slow Frequency-Hopping based Spread-Spectrum (SFH/SS) system using M -ary Fre...

Neural network applications for jamming state information generator

A known jamming state information (JSI) scheme for a coded frequency-hopped M-ary frequency-shift-keying (FH/MFSK) system under partial-band noise jamming, plus additive white Gaussian noise, utilizes the maximum a posteriori (MAP) rule based on the total energy received in the M-tone signaling bands. It is assumed that the knowledge of partial-band noise jamming fraction is available to the JS...

Low complexity erasure insertion in RS-coded SFH spread-spectrum communications with partial-band interference and Nakagami-m fading

In this paper we propose two novel low-complexity, low-delay erasure insertion schemes, namely, the output threshold test (OTT) and joint maximum output and ratio threshold Test (MO-RTT). The employment of the OTT and MO-RTT is beneficial in the context of the “errors-and-erasures” Reed–Solomon (RS) decoding in a slow frequency-hopping spread-spectrum (SFH/SS) system using -ary frequency-shift ...

Performance of a fast frequency-hopped noncoherent MFSK receiver with non-ideal noise normalization combining over Ricean fading channels with partial-band interference

An error probability analysis is performed for a noncoherent M-ary orthogonal frequency-shift keying (MFSK) communication system employing fast frequency-hopped (FFH) spread spectrum. The signal is assumed to be transmitted through a frequency-nonselective, slowly fading channel with partialband interference. The partial-band interference is modeled as a Gaussian process. The noise-normalized r...
